About the Role
The Billing Specialist plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the business by ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, maintaining billing records, and resolving customer billing queries. The role is responsible for processing invoices in line with contractual and company requirements. Working closely with Finance and Operations, the role helps improve billing efficiency, minimise errors, and contribute to strong cash flow management.
Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices in line with contracts, pricing agreements, and internal procedures.
Ensure billing is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
Maintain up-to-date customer account and billing records.
Maintain accurate logs of certifications, supporting documentation, and invoice‑related records to ensure timely resolution of audit queries.
Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, or customer queries promptly.
Liaise with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to gather required billing information.
Reconcile billing data and assist with month‑end close processes.
Monitor aged debt reports and support collections where required.
Process credit notes, adjustments, and account amendments.
Ensure compliance with VAT/tax regulations and company policies.
Produce regular billing reports and performance metrics.
Identify opportunities to improve billing systems and processes.
Assist when required with month end close and/or audit.
Undertake ad‑hoc financial analysis and specific assignments as required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
2+ years experience in a billing or accounts receivable role, ideally with multi‑entity experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, alongside strong numerical and analytical abilities.
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Exceptional attention to detail combined with a passion for control integrity and operational excellence.
Comfortable working in a changing and fast‑paced environment.
