At Excel Recruitment, we are currently recruiting a Senior Transport Manager - School Transport on behalf of a National Transport provider based in Cork. The Senior Transport Manager will have overall responsibility for the strategic and operational management of school transport services across the Southern Region. This includes overseeing regional offices, ensuring safe and efficient services, managing staff and contractors, and driving service excellence in line with Department of Education & Youth policy. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, operational expertise, and forward-thinking vision to deliver long-term value and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Lead the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of school transport services across Cork and Waterford. Manage and support regional school transport offices and staff. Oversee contractor management, compliance, and vehicle safety. Ensure regulatory compliance, audits, and reporting requirements are met. Lead recruitment, training, and development of drivers and staff. Plan, monitor, and optimise routes, resources, and budgets. Engage with stakeholders, schools, contractors, and public representatives. Support digital transformation and implementation of new systems. Requirements: Proven senior management experience in transport operations. Strong knowledge of road passenger transport legislation and school transport policy. Excellent people leadership and stakeholder management skills. Experience in procurement, contract management, and compliance. Strong IT, data management, and reporting skills (Excel, SAP, Power BI, etc.). Commercial and financial acumen, with a focus on value for money.
