As a Production Support Engineer (Junior) at NS90, you'll join the front line of our technical operations. This means you will be the first to investigate any issues that arise, promptly addressing customer requests and ensuring swift resolution. You'll take ownership of issues, either resolving them independently or escalating them to the appropriate teams, all with the goal of ensuring the best service for our users.
Within this role, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure and hands-on experience with a wide range of technologies. You will have the chance to expand your programming skills across various domains by contributing to our internal development projects.
Day-to-day
Troubleshoot and ensure resolution of a wide range of production issues within expected SLA:
* Alerting System Triggers: Analyze alerts generated by our monitoring system and diagnose underlying issues impacting platform performance or functionality. You will be responsible for maintaining the health and effectiveness of our Zabbix monitoring system.
* External Customer Requests: Investigate and resolve problems reported by external customers interacting with our APIs. Provide guidance on best practices for achieving successful and efficient integration.
* Proactive Problem Detection: Identify and investigate potential problems you discover during routine monitoring or platform interaction.
* Application/tools support: Atlassian products (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket), MS Teams, Office 365, Azure.
Maintain and Improve Processes: You will contribute to continuous improvement by working on:
* Long-term Investigations: Conduct in-depth analysis of complex issues requiring extended effort.
* Internal Development: Participate in the development of internal tools and applications designed to increase efficiency and improve response times.
* Process Enhancements: Collaborate on optimizing internal workflows.
Work closely with development, QA, product, SRE, and data analysis teams. This includes collaborating on monitoring and testing before and during releases, participating in change impact reviews, and proactively identifying areas for improvement and error detection.
Communicate and document: Clearly document technical issues and steps to reproduce a problem. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of an internal knowledge base documentation.
Grow your programming skills: As your role expands, you will gain the chance to leverage and develop your programming abilities by contributing to internal tools and applications.
Shift Work for Full Coverage: This role requires working a rotating shift pattern to ensure comprehensive coverage from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, 7 days a week. The shift pattern consists of four 10-hour shifts per week.
Required Skills
* Relevant third level qualification(s)
* Strong problem-solving abilities with the capability to analyze complex issues and identify root causes.
* Experience with relational databases and SQL querying.
* Hands-on proficiency in scripting languages: Bash, Python.
* Demonstrated ability to understand and work with RESTful API concepts.
* Experience using Atlassian tools or similar ticketing/collaboration tools.
* Experience working with Linux environments.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Eligibility to live and work in Ireland.
* Excellent written and spoken English.

Nice to have
* Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana or Zabbix to monitor system performance, set up alerts, and proactively identify and resolve issues.
* Experience working with java-based web servers and applications.
* Experience with Django web framework.
* Knowledge of basic networking concepts TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL.
* Familiarity with the sport betting industry.
