The AWS Data Center Design Engineering team is looking for a senior manager to join our highly collaborative global leadership team, responsible for all data center (DC) projects across EMEA.
As a Senior DC Infrastructure manager you will lead a multi-disciplinary team comprised of experienced builders that have detailed knowledge of data center infrastructure.

Key job responsibilities
* Full ownership of the design of all AWS operated data centers within the EMEA region
* Ownership of design related scope through the construction and commissioning phases of all EMEA projects.
* Support the deployment of new AWS products into the field requiring different types of infrastructure, in your region
* Input into global design standards and generational data center template designs
* All management related leadership and administrative functions (staffing, leadership, expenses, performance management, salaries, goal setting, guidance, training, mentoring, promotions and terminations, and career development).
* Oversight of design consultancy firms.
* Working with the wider EMEA project delivery team to drive cost and schedule efficiencies to allow the business react in an agile way to demand signals.
A day in the life
Your day will be dynamic and impactful, collaborating with multidisciplinary experts to conceptualize, design, and implement state-of-the‑art data center infrastructure. You'll engage in strategic planning, lead cross‑functional teams, and solve complex engineering challenges that require creative problem‑solving and technical expertise.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
* Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
* Experience in engineering team management
* Experience defining data center system‑level architecture, specifying/documenting performance and equipment requirements to vendors and contractors, communicating conceptual designs, and creating/maintaining project documentation before, during and after construction
* Knowledge of software development lifecycle, including design, development, test, build, deployment processes and timelines
* Experience using tools to create, manage, and publish documentation
* Broad understanding across civil, structural, architecture, mechanical and electrical disciplines plus specialist disciplines including acoustic, ICT, fire and security.
* Experience of end to end project delivery including civil, structural and architectural, as well as MEP scope.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience directly related to the design or construction of data centers
* Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
* Experience in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering
* Sustainable design experience
* Experience in modular construction techniques
* MBA, or Master's degree
* Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
* Certification such as Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
* Experience in vendor management
