Summer Camp Operations Manager
CEC - Cork English College is one of Ireland's leading English language schools, with over 48 years of experience in the EFL industry. Due to continued growth, we are now recruiting a Summer Camp Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day running of our International Summer Junior Centre.
CEC is recognised by ACELS (a service of QQI) for English Language Teaching and is a full member of MEI, Quality English, and EAQUALS. We are also an authorised IELTS, OET, Trinity, and Cambridge ESOL examination centre. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Ireland's premier English language and sports camp programmes.
Role Overview
The Summer Camp Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operational and administrative management of the summer school. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role overseeing centre operations, staff management, facilities, logistics, and student welfare.
You will act as Centre Principal, Facilities Manager, and Liaison Officer for all non-academic matters. The Academic Manager and Activity & Residence Supervisor will report directly to you and support you in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient running of the programme.
You will report directly to the Company Director and will be expected to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the full operation of the CEC summer school from preparation through delivery and evaluation
* Manage day-to-day centre operations, administration, and logistics
* Allocate student accommodation, manage staff rotas, meal schedules, and group arrivals/departures
* Organise and coordinate transport for activities, excursions, and airport transfers
* Liaise with campus authorities, including catering, cleaning, and maintenance teams
* Confirm facilities, accommodation, and third-party supplier bookings
* Welcome groups on arrival and deliver centre inductions
* Supervise and support the Activity & Residence Supervisor, ensuring activities and excursions are delivered professionally
* Chair and record minutes of regular staff meetings (minimum three per week, ideally daily)
* Monitor staff working hours and ensure contractual obligations are met
* Track student arrivals, departures, and schedule changes, keeping all relevant teams informed
* Oversee airport transfers for groups and individual students
* Maintain a positive working environment and strong team morale
* Be on-call outside school hours for the duration of the programme
* Oversee student welfare, supervision, discipline, and safeguarding
* Ensure all risk assessments are understood and implemented
* Make operational decisions when required, including those that may be unpopular but necessary
* Address any issues impacting the smooth running of the centre
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
* Be available to work July 2026
* Attend all staff training days
* Complete TUSLA Child Protection Training
* Hold (or be willing to obtain) Garda Vetting
* Be legally entitled to work in Ireland / EU
* Have experience in a similar role involving operations, supervision, customer service, or administration
* Enjoy working with children and young adults
* Be fluent in spoken and written English
* Demonstrate strong leadership, organisational, and multitasking skills
* Be energetic, proactive, and able to motivate both staff and students
* Hold a current and fully qualified Occupational First Aid Certificate
