Why This Role MattersThe Business Development Manager plays a key role in driving revenue growth and maximizing yield across rooms, conferences, banqueting, weddings, and food & beverage. The position ensures that budgeted sales, average room rates, and occupancy targets are achieved by attracting new business, retaining existing clients, and raising the hotel's profile nationally and internationally. This role is essential to expanding the Trigon Hotel Group's market presence and ensuring long-term business sustainabilitySalary:GBP45,000 per year How You'll ContributeRepresent Trigon Hotel Group in the Cork Chamber Committee.Build partnerships with local colleges and universities for conferences & events.Position Trigon hotels as leading wedding venues and achieve annual wedding targets.Ensure prompt handling of guest queries with an initial response within 2 hours.Maintain and update all company profiles.Plan and organize weekly sales calls and schedule client appointments at least one week in advance.Achieve rooms and conference sales budgets.Compile weekly and monthly sales reports.Strategically target all market segments for business development.Plan and execute sales promotions, away sales trips, and mail shots.Ensure administrative tasks are completed (follow-ups, research calls, rate contracts).Communicate negotiated rates to reservations, front office, and accounts.Update corporate grid weekly and ensure adherence to credit procedures.Communicate client agreements with relevant departments.Monitor competitor activities and rates.Stay informed about hotel business activities and local events to optimize revenue strategies.Identify public relations opportunities to promote the hotel group locally.Manage hotel websites (content, photos, web pages).Organize supermarket promotions and host monthly guest evenings.Identify blackout dates and adjust strategies accordingly.Promote and sell Trigon conference facilities to attract large conferences.Maintain updated databases and send out monthly ezines to clients.Attend weekly sales, marketing, yield meetings, and monthly group meetings, preparing and actioning reports.Provide support in other areas of the hotel group as required and respond to reasonable requests from senior management.
