It's why we're looking for someone who's just as committed as we are, to push for genuine change and bring our ambition of Ecological Transformation to life.We know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting ApprenticeLocation: Blanchardstown, Co Dublin39 Hours per weekThe Fitter's job concerns plant and machinery installation, maintenance andrepairs, replacement of broken or work parts, adjustment, servicing andchecking components, machinery and equipment, component replacement.Parts may have to be fabricated using machine tools i.e. lathes, milling machines,grinders etc., components may have to be repaired or fabricated using welding,brazing, rivetting, soldering etc. Increasingly machines and processes involveintegration with computer and electronic operating and control systems withmechanic/hydraulic and pneumatic devices i.e.PLCs, CNC, CAD, CIM and CAM.At the end of the apprenticeship, the craftsperson will be able to demonstratecompetence in the following skills:Core SkillsInstallation, service, maintenance, fault rectification of process plant, machine tools, power and production equipmentComponent fabrication by Turning, Milling, Welding, Cutting, Machining, Drilling, Reaming and Pipe FabricationMachine setting/adjustment of control system elements, including computerisation and system programmingSkills and Specialist SkillsPrecision turningAdvanced millingCoded weldingCNC machining/programmingCAM, CADHydraulicsPneumaticsElectronicsCommon SkillsWorkshop practice including: safe use and maintenance of tools andequipment, marking out, drilling, tapping, reaming, rivetting, fasteners,technical drawings and interpretation of 1st and 3rd angle, isometric, obliqueand freehand drawings/symbols.Safety - hazard avoidance,good workshop practices, basic first aid, fire extinguishers, electrical shocks,lifting, evacuation, basic thermal processes, pattern development, materials,mechanical,handling light fabrication, environmental protection and rationaluse of energy.Personal SkillsInitiative/adaptabilityVerbal communicationProblem solvingTeamworkPlanningReport writingMinimum RequirementsLeaving CertificateStrong Mathematical abilityPlease note:If you are an EU/EEA national, you will be asked to show proof of right to work in Ireland.If you are a non-EU/EEA national, you will require current and valid permission to work and reside in the Republic of Ireland.Information on legislation and guides to the procedures in relation to obtaining greencard permits ,work permits, spousal/dependant permits is available on the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation website.
