Overview
Seeking a Localization Engineer to lead technical localization efforts across software, mobile apps, and web platforms. The role blends engineering skills with localization expertise to improve global content delivery through automation, AI, and modern workflows. You'll act as the technical link between development teams, localization partners, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end localization workflows, including source code review, internationalization checks, and multilingual release preparation.
* Build and maintain automation tools that support translation processes and reduce manual work.
* Integrate AI and machine learning tools into localization pipelines, including prompt engineering and machine translation optimisation.
* Work closely with engineering teams to support internationalization best practices during development.
* Configure and enhance Translation Management Systems (e.g., Phrase TMS, Crowdin) using APIs, custom workflows, and automated quality checks.
* Maintain terminology databases, translation memories, and other linguistic resources.
* Perform technical localization testing such as pseudo-localization, UI validation, and cross-platform compatibility checks.
* Coordinate with external language service providers to ensure technical requirements and quality standards are met.
Key Qualifications
* Strong experience delivering localization workflows with accuracy and technical competence.
* Familiarity with AI and machine-learning tools for multilingual content creation. Experience with MT engine tuning is an advantage.
* Experience with version control systems.
* Hands‑on knowledge of Translation Management Systems, especially Phrase TMS and Crowdin.
* Excellent English communication skills. Native-level fluency in at least one additional language is required.
