Cloud Data Architect (Azure)
to lead the migration and evolution of
our client's Data & AI architecture
into the Azure cloud. This pivotal role will design, implement, and communicate modern data solutions spanning data ingestion, storage, analytics, AI/ML, and governance—ensuring business and technical alignment at every stage.
You'll collaborate across business and IT functions, shaping the future of data at scale in a regulated, financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
 * Own and drive the
 target Data & AI architecture migration to Azure
, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security.
 * Design
 end-to-end data solutions
, including data ingestion, storage, modelling, warehousing, BI/analytics, advanced analytics, and predictive model lifecycle management.
 * Partner with stakeholders across IT, Security, DevOps, and Business Data teams to ensure strategic alignment and clarity.
 * Ensure compliance with
 architecture governance, security, and regulatory policies
 (including GDPR).
 * Conduct technology assessments and proof-of-concepts to identify risks, cost efficiencies, and potential improvements.
 * Champion the implementation of
 our client's cloud strategy
 while supporting group-level principles.
What We're Looking For
Technical Skills
 * Proven experience designing
 Azure-based data architectures
 :
 * Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure ML, Cognitive Services
 * Data Lake & Lakehouse technologies
 * Databricks, PowerBI, OpenShift
 * Strong foundations in
 data engineering, data warehousing, BI/analytics
 .
 * Practical knowledge of
 MLOps automation, model lifecycle management, and predictive model integration
 .
 * Proficiency in
 Python, R, SQL, and .NET
 .
 * Understanding of
 networking, hybrid cloud integration, and security infrastructure
 .
 * Familiarity with
 data governance, security concepts (encryption, authentication, privacy-by-design)
 .
Professional Skills
 * Excellent written and verbal communication—able to bridge business and technical audiences.
 * Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
 * Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business needs into architecture requirements.
 * Experience working in a
 regulated financial services environment
 is highly desirable.
