Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide technical support for electronic manufacturing test systems and associated equipment used in the production of medical devices at the Clonmel plant. Working within a shift pattern, the role is responsible for supporting equipment uptime, test system performance, product quality, and compliance with applicable procedures, quality system requirements, and regulatory standards.
This role operates within a manufacturing environment and requires support of production activities within an assigned shift pattern. The role may involve hands‑on equipment support, technical troubleshooting on the production floor, and close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to maintain operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct fault-finding and failure analysis on electronic and production test systems to identify root cause at component level and support timely issue resolution.
Operate, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, maintain, and support the ongoing performance of manufacturing test equipment and associated systems.
Perform test activities, analyze data, and prepare accurate technical documentation and reports using schematics, engineering drawings, procedures, and work instructions.
Support production floor activities through the setup, inspection, repair, and maintenance of test‑specific equipment, fixtures, materials, systems, and product.
Work collaboratively with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and other cross‑functional teams to resolve technical issues, improve process capability, and reduce yield loss.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities by identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, test system robustness, efficiency, and standard work practices.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable quality system requirements, site procedures, safety expectations, and regulatory standards relevant to medical device manufacturing.
Knowledge of electronic test systems, instrumentation, schematics, and manufacturing support practices.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic issues in a structured and methodical manner.
Capability to interpret technical drawings, procedures, and engineering documentation accurately.
Experience of working effectively with cross‑functional teams in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings and communicate technical issues clearly.
Education & Experience
A NFQ Level 7 technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
2–3 years of experience in a similar technical support, test engineering, manufacturing engineering, or equipment support role within the medical device industry or another regulated manufacturing environment.
