Job title: Civils Manager (Residential Site) Location: Tralee Contract: Full-time, permanent Package: Competitive salary (DOE) + vehicle/allowance + expenses & benefits The Role We are seeking an experienced Civils Manager to oversee civil works across two residential developments in Tralee and the wider Kerry region.
Working with an established residential developer, you will take full responsibility for the planning, coordination, and delivery of all civil packages.
You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while liaising closely with site teams, subcontractors, design consultants, and local authorities.
Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate all civils activities from site set-up through to completion and handover.
Oversee groundworks, foundations, drainage, services installation, roads, footpaths, and external infrastructure works.
Develop and monitor project programmes, ensuring civils works are sequenced efficiently to support housing delivery targets.
Manage subcontractors on site, ensuring productivity, quality, and adherence to programme.
Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including RAMS, permits, inspections, and environmental controls.
Coordinate with engineers, architects, utility providers, Irish Water/Uisce ireann, ESB, and Kerry County Council to ensure timely approvals and connections.
Monitor costs, track variations, and support commercial reporting in collaboration with the QS team.
Review drawings and technical specifications, resolving site issues and design queries through RFIs.
Ensure quality control procedures are implemented and completed works meet required standards prior to handover.
Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management.
About You 5+ years experience in a Site Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Civils Manager role within residential or civil infrastructure projects.
Strong background in groundworks and infrastructure for housing developments.
Excellent knowledge of Irish construction regulations and utility coordination.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple subcontractors and stakeholders.
Commercially aware with experience monitoring budgets and programme performance.
Proficient in reading drawings, setting out coordination, and use of MS Office and project management software.
Full clean drivers licence.
Safe Pass & Manual Handling (additional certs such as First Aid, Temporary Works, or IOSH desirable).
