Overview
AXA Ireland is currently seeking a Commercial Technical Underwriting Manager in our Dublin office.
In this role you will be leading the technical underwriting for the SME product suite, which includes Commercial Property, Liability and Farm Products. The successful candidate will lead a team of technical experts, supporting team development, managing portfolio performance, and contributing to the growth of the commercial and agricultural business.

You\'ll work majority of your week away from home. Away from home means either attendance at one of our head office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.
What you\'ll be doing
* Development of risk appetite to support ambitions in Commercial lines market
* Product management & continuous development of suite of SME products
* Portfolio performance management including recommending actions required to maintain or improve profitability and/or business performance in line with company strategy
* Technical review of potential opportunities to grow our commercial portfolio
* Management of underwriting control framework for relevant products across AXA Ireland
* Lead and support development of suitable Pricing & Underwriting sophistication initiatives
* Point of referral & escalation for complex technical underwriting issues
* Ensuring continued adherence to AXA Group standards
* Management of team of Technical Underwriters
Qualifications
What we're looking for:
* 5-7 years of total Commercial Underwriting experience essential with 3 years of management experience, preferably in a technical underwriting role
* Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is essential.
* CIP Qualification essential, ACII desirable
* Adaptable work mindset with the capacity to meet tight deadlines effectively.
* Robust interpersonal skills, particularly in influencing and challenging colleagues across various organizational levels
* Outstanding written and spoken communication abilities.
* Highly organised with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve critical organizational goals.
