Senior Lecturer/Lecturer – Microelectronics for Photonics Communications
Location: Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork, Cork, Ireland – Permanent full‑time.
About the role
UCC Futures – Quantum & Photonics is looking for a faculty member in microelectronics for photonic communications. The appointment will be at the Senior Lecturer or Lecturer level within the School of Engineering, in partnership with the Tyndall National Institute.
Key responsibilities
* Develop and lead research at the frontier of microelectronics circuit design for photonic communication systems.
* Establish a new research programme aligned with the UCC Futures initiative.
* Collaborate with Tyndall groups and industry partners on joint projects.
* Guide and supervise postgraduate students and contribute to undergraduate teaching.
Candidate profile
* PhD (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering or related field.
* Strong record of innovative research in microelectronics and circuit design.
* Experience in circuit design and experimental validation highly desirable.
* Evidence of ability to secure funding, publish, and build collaborations.
* Commitment to inclusive, diverse research and teaching.
