Job Description:
The Senior Manager, Third Party Manufacturing (TPM) is responsible for managing the organization's relationship with third-party manufacturers.
This role involves providing strategic initiatives and technical support to ensure high-quality products are manufactured in compliance with local and international regulations.
This position manages projects and programs that impact AbbVie, ensuring cost-effective, marketable, and manufacturable products, and maximizing profitability throughout their life cycle.
* Participate in negotiations of manufacturing service agreements and ensure compliance with terms.
* Develop effective planning and material procurement strategies to supply required materials.
* Communicate product forecasts and agree on manufacturing and delivery schedules.
* Coordinate with Supply Chain and Planning to ensure suppliers deliver products according to demand forecasts.
* Actively participate in Financial Operating Plan development, updates, and Standard processes to meet financial goals.
* Coordinate Steering Committee meetings and monitor Virtual Operation Teams' performance, address issues, and escalate if necessary.
* Review status reports and prepare updates for Senior leadership.
* Collaborate with technical and quality teams to review process performance, quality trends, and agree on process improvement plans.
* Establish governance, guidelines, and communication channels.
* Ensure suppliers have required quality systems and documentation to meet regulatory requirements, follow up inspection responses and commitments.
* Coordinate QA annual quality management review and periodic audits of TPM.
* Investigate deviations and make timely product disposition decisions.
* Establish performance metrics and track performance periodically.
* Develop, implement, and manage programs or projects through initiating, planning, and executing phases.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in a science or technical field is preferred, along with an MSc or MBA degree. A minimum of 10+ years of experience in areas like manufacturing, engineering, project management, quality, and S&T is required.
The individual should have a broad business perspective, knowledge, and understanding of manufacturing processes. Strong project experience, influencing others, and previous experience managing subcontracted relationships are essential.
Proven leadership ability with superior communication skills, including listening, verbal, presentation, and written, is necessary. Strong strategy development and planning skills coupled with pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, and supply activities knowledge are also required.
Demonstrated team player ability and globally oriented work environment experience are essential. Strong knowledge of business financial systems and tools is also necessary.
