Job PurposeThe Director of Insurance, Ireland will lead the strategic and operational growth of the Irish insurance business across all customer segments and product lines. This role carries full responsibility for performance across the end to end customer lifecycle, from lead generation and sales through to renewal and retention.Working closely with senior leadership and functional managers, the role will focus on accelerating growth within SME and Enterprise segments, improving operational efficiency, strengthening insurer relationships, and embedding a strong performance and compliance culture across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and StrategyLead delivery of ambitious growth targets for the Irish insurance divisionDevelop and execute clear commercial and operational growth plansLead, develop, and motivate a growing team across sales, operations, and renewalsBuild a high performance culture focused on accountability, development, and resultsDrive training, onboarding, coaching, and technical development across teamsOwn regulatory and compliance responsibilities in partnership with central compliance and legal functionsBuild strong internal relationships to drive referrals and cross divisional collaborationSales, Lead Generation, and RetentionAlign marketing and sales activity to optimise lead flow, conversion, and profitabilityDrive growth through inbound leads and cross sell opportunities from existing customer dataPartner with marketing to improve digital channels, campaigns, and online presenceImprove client retention through product, pricing, and customer experience initiativesSupport teams to identify and close additional product opportunities with existing clientsData, Performance, and ComplianceUse MI, dashboards, and KPIs to manage performance at team and individual levelEmbed a quality first approach with strong audit, governance, and reporting standardsEnsure regulatory requirements are met while maintaining a customer centric cultureInsurer RelationshipsDevelop and strengthen insurer relationships to improve placement strategy, cover, service, and remunerationWork closely with product and compliance teams to align insurer expectations with business objectivesExperience and Skills RequiredProven leadership experience within insurance or a closely related sectorStrong understanding of commercial motor and non motor insurance productsHands on sales background with a consistent record of achieving targetsExperience managing sales teams and working with data driven lead generation modelsStrong commercial and analytical skills, including forecasting and performance managementIn depth knowledge of the Irish insurance market and insurer landscapeComfortable operating in a fast paced, growth focused environmentWilling to be hands on and support teams across sales, operations, pricing, and process improvementStrong relationship building skills internally and externallyWillingness to travel as requiredDesirableExperience working across multiple insurers and brokersExposure to CRM, reporting, and BI platformsExperience selling to larger enterprise clients
