The Role:The AVP Engineering will work under the direction of the SVP Engineering for the purpose of executing the role and responsibilities associated with the New Aircraft and Engineering Services team. The successful candidate will build and maintain relationships as well as support ongoing projects.Key Responsibilities:Monitoring and controlling of modification aspects of aircraft transitions relating to reconfigurations, regulatory mandates compliance, management of outsourced suppliers and where appropriate, on-site support;Estimation activity for reconfiguration costs to support aircraft marketing or placement decisions;Assisting in development of engineering workscopes for aircraft jurisdictional redeployment with particular focus on global avionics mandates;Sourcing and development of engineering and material suppliers to optimise selection process for each transition project;Assisting other engineering staff with the development project solutions and organisation of the supporting data within the existing Sharepoint frameworks;Monitoring and reviewing supplier performance;Liaise with aircraft manufacturers for mod estimation, solution procurement, and ad-hoc technical queries;The provision of technical guidance and support to other areas of the organisationLiaise with the Procurement team in relation to their support for Engineering and management of Avolon stock of materials.The Person:You will be driven, focussed, and resourceful as well as being an excellent relationship builder. You will be able to articulate complex concepts and put forward compelling arguments and rationales to all levels and audiences within Avolon and the industry.Essential Skills and Experience:Engineering Honours Degree and/or an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's License (AMEL);A minimum of five years airline, MRO or leasing experience within a technical function;Strong familiarity with aircraft type design aspects, technical specifications, and aircraft records, including OEM documentation;Proven track record in engineering and project management for aircraft modifications, including cabin interiors, avionics, and IFE;Experience working with aircraft lessors on aircraft transition projects;Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements;Highly motivated self-starter who brings original thought, challenge and innovation to solving problems;Direct, effective, and engaging communicator with strong interpersonal skills;Strong and independent minded with the ability to express your views with conviction, showing bravery in confronting established thought;Ability to distil complex messages into key takeaways to support management decision making, summarising findings with impact, putting forward compelling arguments and rationales to all levels and audiences within Avolon and the industry;Driven, focused, resourceful and self-motivated with an ability to think independently and work to proactively identify solutions to issues as they arise;Strong drive for results, with a focus on meeting project milestones and timelines;Skilled at compiling and monitoring project statuses, with the ability to present updates to cross-functional teams;Excellent in interpersonal and collaboration skills, capable of developing and maintaining positive business relationships to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders;Showcase a track record of delivering successful outcomes in a fast-paced commercial environment.
