# About the roleJob Summary The Facilities Operative is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, waste management, and essential facility supplies across the site.
This role ensures that all waste streams are handled correctly, facilities are well stocked, and contractors and suppliers are coordinated to support smooth day-today operations.Key Responsibilities**Waste Management & Environmental Controls*** Collect all office waste and transport it to designated waste area* Collect canteen food waste and transport it to designated area.
* Dispose of all waste cooking oil in accordance with site procedures.
* Collect and segregate hard plastics and place them in skip.
* Collect and manage all glass and battery waste safely.
* Bale cardboard and plastic tie wraps using balers and transport bales.
* Transport all scrap timber and pallets to* Load IBCs as required.
* Transport all paint cans and filters to* Crush and bag paint cans and filters in line with environmental and safety standards.
**Facilities & Housekeeping*** Empty ashtrays in all smoking huts.
* Check, clean, and restock glass cleaning stations across the site.
* Check and refill toilet rolls and hand wash dispensers in all toilets.
* Check and refill blue hand towel dispensers as required.
**Contractor & Supplier Coordination*** Organise and liaise with contractors for the collection of various waste streams.
* Contact suppliers to arrange resupply of consumables, including (but not limited to): + Toilet paper + Hand soap + Cleaning chemicals (e.g. bleach)**Health, Safety & Compliance*** Carry out all duties in compliance with site health, safety, and environmental procedures.
* Use equipment such as balers and crushers safely and in accordance with training.
* Ensure waste is segregated and disposed of correctly to support environmental compliance.
**Skills & Competencies*** Good organisational and time-management skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Physically capable of manual handling tasks.
* Good communication skills for liaising with contractors and suppliers.
