Overview
There is one permanent whole time vacancy in the Quality and Safety Department, HSE South West. The base for the post is negotiable with options for a base in either the Quality & Safety Department in the Erinville Hospital in Cork or the Borg Warner Centre in Tralee in Kerry. Pending future regional structural changes may impact this post going forward.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Grade VII - Quality and Safety Advisor from which current and future, Permanent and Specified Purpose vacancies of Full or Part-Time duration may be filled. Please note that there are three existing panels in place for Grade VII - Quality and Safety Advisor within HSE South West (Campaign reference HSESW-MA53-0823, HSESW-68-1124) and SW-MA84417. The existing panels will take precedence over the supplementary panel created through this campaign for any future posts that arise.

Responsibilities
* Work with the Quality and Patient Safety Manager to develop, deliver, implement and evaluate a comprehensive quality and safety programme with associated structures, policies and processes which are the vehicle for improving quality and safety.
* Drive core programmes of work in quality, safety and risk management, including:
* quality improvement
* audit
* health and safety
* service user and community involvement
* risk management
* complaints
* incidents and serious incidents
* patient safety and service improvement
* implementation of recommendations from local and national investigations, reports and audits.
