We are seeking a highly motivated, technically proficient Accountant to join our dynamic EMEA Accounting & Finance team based in Cork, Ireland. This role plays a key part in safeguarding the financial integrity and statutory compliance of multiple entities across the EMEA region. The position reports directly to the Manager of EMEA Finance.
About the Role
* Maintain and analyse statutory general ledger accounts and prepare accurate financial statements and reports at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end in accordance with applicable accounting and reporting standards.
* Act as the primary point of contact between the EMEA Accounting & Finance team and local accounting firms, ensuring adherence to local bookkeeping and compliance requirements where applicable.
* Perform detailed financial analysis for designated EMEA entities, investigating variances and providing clear, insightful explanations to management and internal stakeholders.
* Ensure robust internal controls are in place, maintained, and documented in line with company policies and procedures.
* Manage the end-to-end preparation and review of statutory financial statements for multiple EMEA entities, ensuring compliance with IFRS and relevant local GAAP requirements.
* Coordinate and oversee the annual statutory audit process, serving as the main liaison between internal teams (Finance, Tax, Legal, Revenue, Payroll) and external auditors.
* Prepare comprehensive US GAAP to local GAAP reconciliations to support statutory reporting requirements.
* Ensure timely filing of statutory accounts and regulatory reports across multiple jurisdictions.
* Monitor developments in local accounting standards and assess their impact on the company's financial reporting.
* Provide supervision and guidance to other Accountants within the EMEA Accounting & Finance team.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
* Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives within accounting and statutory reporting processes.
* Assist with ad hoc projects and requests as required.
About You
* Qualified accountant with a CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
* Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in financial accounting or statutory reporting, ideally within a multinational organisation or Big Four/top-tier public accounting firm.
* Strong technical accounting expertise, particularly in IFRS, with proven experience managing multiple statutory audits.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with major ERP systems, such as SAP.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
* Highly organised, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
* Proactive problem-solver with a solutions-focused mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
