Sweeney Oil Service Stations The Company Sweeney Oil has been operating in the service station and oil distribution business since 1987. In addition to owning and operating four service stations our fuel distribution business is growing and now operates from five depots in Galway and Mayo and is one of the largest independent oil brands in the west. The Role Accounts Assistant Service Stations The company is re-organising its administration and as part of that re-organisation a vacancy has arisen for an accounts assistant focussing on our four service stations. The company is seeking to recruit a highly numerate and diligent accounts assistant who can quickly integrate herself/himself and provide support to the financial controller of the service station business. Job Specifics Maintain compete control of the accounts payable and receivable function and ensure accuracy in pricing and quantity Maintain weekly bank / cash reconciliations and investigate any issues Prepare weekly margin reports in specific shop departments Prepare weekly payroll and process all statutory returns on a weekly basis Ad-Hoc projects as directed by the financial controller including sales and margin analysis, overhead tracking and control. The Person The job will suit a newly qualified accounting technician or experienced part-qualified technician seeking to broaden their scope of work and enter a fast moving and growing business. The successful candidate will also have the following attributes Be accurate and timely in all aspects of work Build good relationships and support a culture of high customer service and standards Be computer literate, including MS Excel Be a good communicator to all levels of the business Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
