Job Description: Product Manager (Overseas Sourcing)
Role Summary:
The Product Manager owns the product lifecycle from final sample approval through to in-stock delivery at our warehouses. They are responsible for managing factories, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and keeping production on schedule. This role ensures that products meet the company's quality, cost, and timing expectations.
Responsibilities:
* Approve final samples and ensure all specifications/QA standards are met.
* Manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with agreements and timelines.
* Track production progress and maintain the critical path for all active products.
* Partner with Purchasing Manager to align order timing with inventory needs.
* Communicate delays, risks, and updates to internal stakeholders.
* Support quality inspections and resolve production issues with factories.
* Maintain documentation related to product standards, timelines, and compliance.
Product Development & Sampling
· Oversee the transition from design concept to approved final samples.
· Ensure that product specifications, materials, and quality standards are clearly communicated to factories.
· Coordinate sample reviews, feedback, and approvals within timelines.
2. Supplier & Factory Management
· Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas factories and suppliers.
· Negotiate supplier agreements, including pricing, lead times, and compliance requirements.
· Ensure factories follow QA standards, testing protocols, and certifications.
3. Production & Quality Control
· Monitor production schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
· Work with QA teams (in-house or third-party) to conduct inspections and audits.
· Resolve any quality or compliance issues quickly with suppliers.
4. Supply Chain & Logistics
· Track orders from purchase order (PO) placement through to shipment and warehouse delivery.
· Partner with the purchasing to ensure timely order placement and inventory flow.
· Manage critical path timelines, flagging risks and delays.
· Coordinate with freight forwarders and logistics teams to align shipping schedules.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work with design, merchandising, and sales teams to ensure product aligns with business objectives.
· Provide updates to internal stakeholders on status, risks, and delivery timelines.
· Ensure smooth handover of product information to marketing, e-commerce, and sales teams.
6. Continuous Improvement
· Identify opportunities to optimize sourcing processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
· Stay updated on industry trends, compliance standards, and global supply chain developments.
Skills & Experience:
* 3–5+ years in product management, sourcing, or supply chain.
* Experience working with overseas factories (preferably Asia/EU sourcing).
* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Excellent communication with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
