Position
Title: Team Leader – Catering (29 hours per week)
Location: St. Paul's Secondary School, Monasterevin, Co. Kildare (and within 30‑minute drive of main location)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 2:00 pm (half‑day on Friday). Rotating schedule.
Start date: End of August (pre‑training may be provided where possible). Term‑time position only.
Introduction
Since 2011, The School Food Company has been dedicated to serving fresh, healthy lunches cooked daily onsite in the kitchens we install in schools.
Responsibilities
Prepare fresh, healthy meals daily in the onsite kitchen.
Peel, chop, prep, and cook ingredients from scratch (no raw meat).
Assist with kitchen management and the fast‑paced commercial kitchen environment.
Deliver lunches to classrooms and conduct end‑of‑day clean‑down.
Maintain high standards of HACCP food safety and hygiene.
Lead kitchen operations: rostering, ordering, recruiting and supervising staff.
Ensure food safety and company policies are adhered to.
Move between schools within a 30‑minute drive to provide support or cover when needed.
Qualifications
Experience in catering or home cooking.
Experience in team leadership, catering, and cooking.
Training in HACCP preferred.
Willingness and mobility to move within a 30‑minute drive of the main location.
Subject to Garda vetting and completion of a Child Protection Course.
