Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team in the development of innovative microfluidic systems for methane sensing, capture and conversion. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative project that aims to create autonomous, low-power consumption systems for in-field deployment and characterization.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to cutting-edge research and gain valuable experience in a multidisciplinary environment.


Key Responsibilities and Research Objectives

* Develop novel methane capture and conversion embedded systems for in-field deployment and characterization.
* Integrate methane oxidation catalysts and sensors into low-power consumption, miniaturized microfluidic systems with integrated power supplies, wireless communications, and sensor interface electronics.


Required Skills and Qualifications

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field with experience in electronics design and embedded system integration.
* Strong background in wireless embedded system design, low-power electronics, analog/digital design, schematic capture, PCB design, firmware development, and system programming.
* Experience with sensor integration, mechanical design (SolidWorks or equivalent), data analytics (Matlab/Python), and scientific writing.


Benefits

* An annual stipend of €25,000.
* Yearly university academic fees paid by the employer.


Additional Responsibilities

* Collaborate with researchers from the Tyndall Materials Modelling and Precision Electrochemical Sensor Groups.
* Engage in education and public engagement activities.
* Ensure compliance with quality management and health and safety standards.
