We are now inviting applications for the role of Laundry Assistant to join our Support Services team.The Laundry Assistant will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and infection control within our laundry services. This is a vital support role within the hospital, ensuring that patients and staff receive an excellent standard of service every day.Key ResponsibilitiesTo maintain the daily cleaning and servicing of the laundry facility and deliver a high-quality laundry service in line with JCI Accreditation standards, FMS audits, and hospital policies.Ensure all duties are carried out professionally, courteously, and thoroughly.Comply with Health & Safety and Infection Control guidelines, including safer handling practices, fire safety, and risk assessments.Prevent and manage the spread of infection through correct hand hygiene, glove use, and waste segregation.Carry out infection control isolation procedures in contaminated or infected areas as required.Maintain a record of defective ski sheets and slings, soiled tea towels etc checking for quality and hazardsOrder and maintain stock of laundry cleaning supplies.Prevention and recording of legionellaComplete weekend cleaning laundry listComply with Personal Protective Equipment and PolicyThe ideal candidate must:Previous experience in a healthcare, housekeeping, accommodation, or laundry environment is desirable.Be flexible and process excellent communication and interpersonal skillsHave an awareness of infections, MRSI, VRE, Cdiff, AspergillosAbility to use initiative and work independently and as part of a teamStrong organisational skills with flexibility and team spirit.Be able to communicate in English to the standard equivalent to level 7 of the International English Language Testing SystemBe eligible to work within the EUThis role offers the opportunity to be part of a professional team where your contribution makes a difference every day.
