This role is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of shift management across inbound and outbound operations in the distribution centre.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise Staff: Provide hands-on guidance to maximize productivity and accuracy in job functions, utilizing weekly benchmark reports and performance metrics.
* Daily Workload Planning: Ensure all customer orders are shipped on the same day by planning workloads accordingly.
* Culture Development: Support warehouse team standards to drive a customer-focused environment.
* KPI Management: Supervise daily processes to meet or exceed Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics.
* Team Direction: Provide guidance and assistance to the warehouse team by clarifying job assignments and resolving issues.
* Departmental Expectations: Meet all departmental expectations to effectively drive results.
* Team Development: Assist in training, developing, and managing the warehouse team, monitoring individual performance through clear expectations, training, coaching, and mentoring.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure site compliance with Health & Safety Regulations.
* Equipment Training: Provides training and certification prior to employees operating industrial powered equipment, and monitors employee use.
* Reporting: Accurately report warehouse activities using business metrics reports and other required documentation.
* Budget Compliance: Comply with logistic and distribution center budgetary constraints, monitoring controllable expenses.
Qualifications:
* Warehouse Expertise: Strong knowledge and business acumen in warehouse operations.
* Experience: 2-4 years of focus in Distribution Centre operations with Store, Direct to Consumer, and Business to Business applications desired.
* Metric Analysis: Functional knowledge and experience in conducting metric-driven analysis and accountability.
* WMS Experience: Experience using and implementing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
* Technical Skills: Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Operating Systems.
* Process Improvement: Understanding of Process Improvement/Six Sigma processes a plus.
* Leadership: Strong proven leadership and people management skills essential.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to proactively identify challenges and arrive at optimum solutions.
* Education: Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred.
* Distribution Centre Knowledge: Working knowledge of Distribution Centre processes and functions.
* Flexibility: Prepared to work multiple shifts as required by business need.
