Role Summary:
\
This exciting opportunity seeks an experienced Advanced Technologies R&D Manager to provide technical leadership in prototyping, early process development, test lab operations, and contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge technologies.
\
The successful candidate will oversee the efficient operation of all test labs, concept, and GxP testing, while ensuring EH&S compliance. They will also support new project development (NPD) and provide expert guidance on emerging process technologies applicable to interventional medical devices.
\
Main Responsibilities:
\
\
1. Lead prototype and lab engineers/technicians for equipment commissioning, validations, maintenance, calibration, and process development studies.
\
2. Manage technical project resources as required, including responsibility for goal setting, performance reviews, identifying and supporting development needs.
\
3. Provide leadership to wider R&D teams in developing new processes, building and testing prototypes, testing, data analysis and interpretation, component and finished device assembly drawings/specifications, product materials selection, and process development.
\
4. Ensure test labs are GxP compliant in terms of equipment, fixtures, and daily operations.
\
5. Assess current and emerging process technologies for suitability in application to the development of interventional medical devices, including catheters and delivery systems.
\
6. Develop expert knowledge on emerging technologies to support implementation and adoption into the wider organization.
\
7. Be the subject matter expert and provide technical leadership for all activities related to early-stage prototype and process development, influencing the design team on concept and design development.

8. Qualifications required:
\
\
9. Qualification in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
\
10. Manufacturing / Process development experience.
\
11. Project management qualification an advantage.
\
12. Significant experience in the interventional medical device industry with experience of technical leadership, and prior product development experience.
