In the fleet maintenance department, the Depot Production Manager is a managerial position responsible for delivering daily LRV maintenance. This role oversees preventative maintenance and drives workshop performance. Additionally, it involves managing small projects to improve depot efficiency and functionality.
Responsibilities
The Depot Production Manager's accountabilities include:
* Team Management: Organizing preventative maintenance, monitoring team activity, setting short-term objectives, prioritizing tasks, participating in depot meetings, leading shift briefings, reviewing potential roadblocks, ensuring safety compliance, managing HR processes, supporting the depot manager, participating in staff development, and overseeing quality audits and recruitment.
* Workshop Layout and Tools: Planning depot layout, maximizing efficiencies, maintaining tools, managing procurement, and proposing improvements.
* Tram Maintenance: Tracking maintenance activities, ensuring routine and scheduled work is completed, managing defects and work orders, coordinating contractors, and proposing technical improvements.
* Parts & Supplier Management: Maintaining accurate parts records, assisting with parts procurement, providing cost feedback, and liaising with suppliers.
* Maintenance Management & Expertise: Driving continuous improvement, providing technical documentation, collaborating on process improvements, guiding team technical issues, analyzing KPIs, and performing audits.
* Other Accountabilities: Managing special projects, developing CMMS, and overseeing parts throughput and defect management.
Details
Working hours: 5 days a week, 39 hours/week.
On-call: 1 week per month, with planning coordinated with the team.
Work location: Based in one depot with occasional travel to others.

Experience: Technical or business qualification, minimum 5 years in a technical environment, supervisory experience is a plus, knowledge of Irish safety legislation, familiarity with tram systems, proficiency in maintenance systems and MS Office.
