Maintenance Person
Padre Pio Care Centre - Windmill Healthcare
Windmill Healthcare is now recruiting for a dedicated Maintenance Person to join our team at Padre Pio Care Centre. The successful candidate will support the safe, efficient, and well-maintained operation of the Nursing Home environment, ensuring a comfortable and secure setting for residents and staff.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Complete weekly and monthly maintenance checklists for building equipment, call systems, lighting, and general facility upkeep
* Conduct scheduled inspections of stores and storage areas
* Carry out preventative maintenance and equipment checks, including generator testing, fire exits, alarms, and emergency doors
* Perform minor repairs throughout the building and on equipment
* Assist with renovation and remodelling projects, including plaster and drywall repairs and touch-up painting
* Conduct routine mechanical maintenance on items such as door locks and windows
* Repair doors, locks, tables, chairs, and closets
* Assist with portering duties across both Nursing Homes
* Support equipment movement and waste management tasks, including filling skips
* Liaise with external service providers (water, electrical, contractors)
* Work collaboratively with other maintenance personnel
* Maintain the underfloor heating system with support from a qualified plumber
* Assist certified electricians with electrical repairs and control circuits
* Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests
* Maintain outdoor areas, including groundskeeping, weeding, and power hosing
* Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing
* Maintain confidentiality and uphold residents' right to privacy
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety guidelines

Qualifications
Essential
* No formal educational qualifications required
Desirable
* Practical maintenance courses or training
* Carpentry experience

* Previous experience in facilities or general maintenance
