Process Environmental Scientist - Water & Wastewater
EPS Group, Connacht and Midlands area, Ireland
We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic people to join our Operations team in the Connacht and Midlands area. The role focuses on process environmental science with particular emphasis on wastewater and drinking water industries.
This role is ideal for someone who is flexible, self-motivated, and capable of managing their time effectively. Strong communication skills and a good command of the English language are essential, as is the ability to engage professionally with colleagues and clients at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
* Travelling to various Water and Wastewater treatment plants throughout the Connacht and Midlands area carrying out operational duties.
* Working independently and occasionally with Senior Process Specialists.
* Conducting inspections, sampling, and analysis of wastewater and drinking water treatment plant processes.
* Troubleshooting and resolving process issues on-site.
* Identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiency measures, with ongoing monitoring.
* Participating in role-specific training as required.
* Operating drinking water and wastewater treatment plants as required.
* Liaising with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, process, and on-site operators/supervisors.
* Calibrating laboratory and monitoring equipment.
* Monitoring and interpreting data from SCADA control systems.
Key Competencies and Skills
* Proven experience in wastewater and water treatment processes is highly desirable.
* Laboratory analysis skills.
* Proficiency in PC applications such as Excel and Word.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
* Degree in Environmental Science (or other relevant science/engineering degree). Further training will be provided.
* Full Irish Driving Licence.
* 3-5 years experience in water and wastewater process optimisation.
