The role of Tooling Engineer at involves developing and maintaining tooling specifications to meet specific component and project strategies. This includes acting as an injection moulding tooling technical lead liaison for both internal project teams and client teams, managing new injection mould tool introduction to the Operations team, and ensuring project technical quality, reliability, schedule, and costs are adhered to during new product introduction (NPI). The engineer must maintain constant monitoring and communication of tooling schedule status through status tooling reports and cross-functional project communication meetings. When tooling challenges arise, the engineer is expected to develop solutions that maintain expectations for productivity, quality, and timeline and meet client project objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

* Developing and implementing multi-cavity Tooling strategies for complex and/or large tooling builds with optimal cavitation and cycle times to meet the needs of a robust manufacturing process and quality requirements.
* Participating in and leading product development or project meetings and making various recommendations for product design changes, including performance and presentation of the Dfm/Dfa recommendations.
* Developing and delivering tooling proposals/costings including: Tooling build, metrology, qualification, and maintenance costs.
* Defining Tooling Product Requirements & Product Specifications.
* Managing mold flow requirements and translating data into final conclusions for use in tooling considerations.

A highly skilled Mechanical Engineer or recognized Tooling Apprenticeship holder or experienced Tool Engineer will excel in this role, bringing excellent knowledge of multi-cavity injection mould tools and hot runner systems, along with strong tooling and product design skills, and working knowledge of 2D/3D CAD software, preferably Pro Engineer. A minimum of 5 years of experience in tooling development, preferably in medical devices, is required.

The successful candidate should also have knowledge of resin materials and processing techniques for tool building and polymers processing, experience in rapid prototyping techniques and their application, and strong knowledge of tool approval process, metrology development for qualification, and document control techniques.,
