As our client base becomes more global, we are centralizing our HSSE teams to create a strong HSSE platform that delivers strategic and operational direction, global consistency, and excellence for our clients and shareholders.
Location Ireland – hybrid; regular on-site presence expected in proximity to Cork.
Role Purpose
The HSSE Sub-regional Lead will manage the implementation of JLL's HSSE management systems across client sites in the UK, Ireland & Nordics sub-region.
The primary objective is to ensure employees and contractors return home safe and healthy at the end of their working day while minimizing our environmental impact.
Success in this role requires a focus on incident reduction, consistent and proactive client engagement, and close alignment across sub-regions.
The role provides tactical HSSE leadership, ensuring that all sites in the sub-region are compliant with JLL, client, and local regulatory requirements.
You will be the primary HSSE point of contact for countries in your sub-region, responsible for deploying EMEA strategies locally, managing risk, and driving a strong health, safety & environmental culture.
The role involves frequent travel (20–25 % of working time) and requires a highly visible, fast-paced leadership presence.
What This Job Involves
Tactical Implementation
Implement account objectives and annual plans at the sub-regional level, aligned to client expectations.
Manage and reduce HSSE risks by providing guidance and advice on risk management at all levels.
Implement contractor compliance monitoring and performance reviews across assigned countries.
Deliver localized training programmes, blending live and e Learning to meet country-specific requirements.
Perform priority site inspections, coach facility managers, address HSSE concerns, and drive improvement.
Provide technical advice on HSSE issues and communicate legislative changes impacting service delivery.
Monitoring, Response & Reporting
Support site teams in incident reporting and investigation, ensuring timely compliance.
Perform country-level audits and maintain local legal registers.
Support development of emergency plans and business continuity activities.
Collect sub-regional performance data and prepare reports for management reviews.
Participate in operational management meetings and hold regular updates with client site leads and stakeholders.
Program & Culture Development
Actively support and implement key HSSE programmes focused on culture development, health & wellbeing, and high-risk work management.
Proactively develop and manage client relationships, ensuring expected service levels are achieved.
Collate effective relationships with the wider account team and third-party vendors.
Promote a strong safety culture through programmes such as "One Team S.

R Together," leadership training, and proactive communications.
Identify innovations and improvement opportunities to drive best practices across the account.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have
A minimum of 7 years of HSSE management experience, preferably across multiple sites or countries.
A degree in occupational safety and health, safety engineering, or a related subject, plus recognized professional HSSE qualifications.
Experience in implementing and auditing environmental, health, and safety management systems such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
Experience in Life Sciences manufacturing, Gx P regulated environments, laboratories, or logistics environments is highly desirable.
Expertise in managing high-risk work, including working at height, electrical work, and confined spaces.
Fluency in English; local language proficiency (Dutch for Belgium & Netherlands, German for Central Europe) is required; additional languages are an advantage.
