Role Overview
The Logistics Support Supervisor plays a key role in supporting and overseeing logistics operations, ensuring the smooth coordination of deliveries, stock movement, and supply chain administration. This position is vital in maintaining the efficient flow of goods from suppliers to warehouses and retail stores, and ultimately to our customers.
Job Purpose
The Logistics Support Supervisor will manage the day-to-day operations of the logistics support administration team within the retail supply chain. The role involves supervising support staff, coordinating outbound shipments, and ensuring inventory, delivery, and distribution processes consistently meet company standards for accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Leadership
* Lead, motivate, and support logistics support staff to achieve performance targets.
* Provide training, guidance, and continuous development for team members.
* Schedule, allocate, and monitor daily tasks to ensure smooth workflow.
Communication & Coordination
* Act as a key point of contact between logistics, warehouse, customer service, and retail store teams.
* Work closely with Operations, Warehouse, Transport, Retail, and Customer Service Managers to identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
* Escalate and resolve logistical issues quickly to minimise disruption to retail operations.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
* Track and report on KPIs such as delivery performance, stock accuracy, and staff productivity.
* Prepare and present regular reports to management on logistics performance.
* Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Administration
* Carry out general administrative duties to support the logistics function.
Skills & Qualifications
* Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, customer service, or administration is essential.
* Proven supervisory or team leadership experience.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across teams, suppliers, and logistics providers.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
* High attention to detail with strong administrative skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of logistics processes and supply chain operations is desirable.
