Purpose Statement
You will provide technical and project leadership for initiatives focused on the evaluation, improvement, and remediation of chemical processes across manufacturing and development operations.
You will lead cross-functional efforts to assess process performance, investigate deviations, and identify root causes, driving effective corrective and preventive actions.
You will review and approve analytical data to support critical process decisions, ensuring scientific integrity, regulatory compliance, and alignment with quality standards.
Working closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams, you will help optimize processes and deliver sustainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Define project resource requirements and collaborate with functional leaders to ensure the right technical expertise is available.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional project activities, ensuring alignment on objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to support team development and knowledge sharing.
Conduct research to develop, improve, or remediate analytical methods, techniques, and procedures.
Develop and apply analytical test methods to evaluate the quantity, quality, and purity of compounds.
Author clear and concise technical reports detailing findings, root cause analyses, and improvement recommendations.
Carry out exploratory research to deepen technical understanding and assess new technologies or analytical tools.
Evaluate relationships between molecular structure and physical properties to support analysis and decision-making.
Review analytical data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and scientific validity.
Approve analytical data within defined authority levels (excluding final product disposition decisions).
Qualifications
Education: NFQ Level7 (full credits) in a relevant discipline and 4+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Technical & Business Knowledge: Strong expertise in a chemical or technical discipline, solid understanding of cross-functional dependencies and business impact, recognized as a technical specialist.
Cognitive Skills: Solve complex technical and process challenges by analysing multiple variables and applying sound judgment, selecting appropriate methods while considering cost, quality, compliance, and timelines.
Influence & Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership without direct authority, influence stakeholders across manufacturing, quality, engineering, and senior management, mentor and advise others.
Planning & Organisation: Plan and manage complex project assignments involving multiple stakeholders, setting clear priorities, milestones, and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
Decision Making & Impact: Make informed scientific and technical decisions that directly impact project outcomes, process performance, and business objectives.
Supervision: Operate with a high level of autonomy, receive minimal direction, and provide coordination support without formal line-management responsibility.
