Job Description
Due to continued growth, we are now looking to hire an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer in Dublin.
You will be joining an experienced team, in a predominantly office-based role, responsible for developing and delivering mechanical designs to facilitate safe and compliant installations on site.
What You Would Do
1. Design in conjunction with fire strategy reports, local building regulations, and planning authority requirements.
2. Attend design team meetings.
3. Carry out site surveys of existing installations where applicable.
4. Produce heating/cooling (thermal modelling) and ventilation load calculations using industry software.
5. Siz and select AHUs, FCUs, extract fans, pumps, chillers, ASHP, boilers, plate heat exchangers, etc.
6. Produce above ground drainage calculations and size drainage systems.
7. Siz and select domestic hot and cold-water equipment (heaters, storage tanks, etc.).
8. Produce pipe and duct sizing calculations using industry software or spreadsheets.
9. Siz and select firefighting sprinkler and pumping systems (preferred but not essential).
10. Prepare stage reports and presentations.
11. Develop Designers Risk Assessment and Mitigation Reports.
12. Detail mechanical layouts and schematics for construction.
13. Meet project delivery deadlines.
14. Produce detailed design and survey reports.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience in mechanical engineering building services for construction.
* Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
* Good knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS & EN Irish, UK standards, or ASHRAE.
* Working knowledge of design software such as Hevacomp, Carrier HAP, CyMap, IES/TAS.
* Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
* Strong communication skills.
