About Your New Job As the Health and Safety Advisor, you will: Conduct regular site safety audits and document findings.
Provide guidance to site management on Health & Safety regulations.
Organize and deliver safety training sessions for site personnel.
Report daily to the Contracts Manager and periodically to the Environmental Health & Safety Manager.
Carry out risk assessments and assist in creating method statements.
Facilitate weekly safety meetings with subcontractors to ensure coordinated and safe operations.
Monitor compliance with health and safety standards, halting unsafe practices when necessary.
Support the maintenance of the safety management system and ensure legislative compliance.
Keep safety documentation current, reviewing subcontractor records regularly.
Implement daily Safe Plan of Action (SPA) forms.
Conduct employee inductions and ongoing safety training (e.g., Safe Pass, manual handling).
Participate in site management meetings to discuss safety concerns.
Deliver weekly Safety Focus (Toolbox) Talks and maintain attendance records.
Record, investigate, and report accidents and near misses.
Prepare monthly safety reports for management.
Provide advice on and update safe work systems and company safety documentation as needed.
What Skills You Need Recognized EHS Degree or Diploma.
3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
Previous experience in main construction is preferred.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
Proficiency in MS Office and database management.
Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
