Clinical Nurse Specialist or Candidate Clinical Nurse Specialist - Care of Epilepsy
Horizons Cork is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Candidate CNS in care of epilepsy. The role is based on the five core concepts of the CNS role as defined by the National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (NCNM) 2008, focusing on clinical expertise, advocacy, education, research, and consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide specialist care for individuals with epilepsy.
2. Advocate for service users and their families.
3. Deliver education and training in epilepsy care.
4. Engage in audit and research activities.
5. Act as a consultant within the multidisciplinary team.
Minimum Requirements
* Registered nurse/midwife on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) register or eligible for registration.
* Registration in the relevant division of the NMBI register or eligible for such registration.
* For CNS: Minimum 5 years' post-registration experience, with relevant experience in intellectual disability or related fields.
* For cCNS: Minimum 1 year's post-registration experience, with relevant experience in intellectual disability or epilepsy support.
* Post-registration qualification at Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) Level 9 or higher in a relevant field, or equivalent evidence of such qualification.
* Demonstrated continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to epilepsy care.
* Ability to practice safely and effectively within scope of practice.
* Full clean driver's license and access to own vehicle.
* Good character and health suitable for the role.
Additional Information
