Mechanical Estimator Job
This role is focused on supporting the commercial and contractual aspects of major projects within a mechanical engineering environment.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective commercial and contractual support to operations, preparing tender and contract documents, and ensuring timely submission and agreement of applications, cost plans, variation details, claims and other documentation. They will also liaise with clients and consultants from initial enquiries through to final accounts, securing final payment without undue penalty. Additionally, they will closely monitor and process project variations, negotiate and purchase sub-contractors and suppliers, and issue tender queries and prepare tender reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Knowledge of mechanical material & system types, supply chain, and sub-contractor network.
* Enthusiasm with ability to work to tight deadlines.
* Ability to read drawings and do take-offs.
* Ability to communicate professionally at all levels in the company and clients.
* Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines.
* Proven experience of managing tenders from enquiry to award stage.
