Who You Are

Geotab is seeking a People Operations Specialist who will assist with various HR functions and perform a diverse range of HR tasks supporting the administrative, operational and people-facing functions of People Operations. What You\'ll Do

* Operate as a shared service supporting all HR Leaders and HR Business Partners, support business lines by being the first point of contact for employee inquiries on HR-related questions, programs and policies and provide coaching.
* Work closely with HR data teams to develop DayForce reports and assist in monitoring employee processes, serving as a reporting SME.
* Provide HR support to People Leaders, meet with them to discuss challenges and provide basic coaching such as managing difficult conversations, escalating to HRBPs as needed.
* Participate in employment processes, including preparing, reviewing and sending employment documentation (e.g., position change letters, employment contracts, performance improvement plans, individual development plans).
* Support HRBPs during terminations and job eliminations, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and a smooth experience for all parties.
* Facilitate relocation, professional development requests and engagement toolkit requests.
* Assist People Leaders in the job description process and ensure job descriptions reflect needs, duties, responsibilities and qualifications.
* Conduct exit interviews and summarize trends for HRBPs; share data to improve the employee experience.
* Assist with performance management reviews, investigations, and employee relations challenges.
* Contribute to process development and improvement within People Operations; suggest efficiencies.
* Provide updates and content suggestions for Canadian/Global HR guides and internal HR Wiki as needed.
* Maintain knowledge of legislative requirements related to day-to-day management of employees to reduce legal risk.
* Participate in HR programs, projects and initiatives, including development and implementation.
* Ensure adherence to Geotab policies on sharing confidential HR/employee information.
* Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.


What You\'ll Bring To The Role

* Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources or related field; equivalent combination of education and/or work experience may be substituted.
* CHRP, CHRL or equivalent certification is an asset.
* Ability to work across a broad set of HR functions and demonstrate HR expertise and thought leadership.
* Experience in a technical or engineering organization is an asset.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of all job responsibilities.
* Technical competence using software programs, including Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
