Product Validation Engineer

A well-established and innovative electronics manufacturer is currently seeking an experienced Product Validation Engineer to join their on-site R&D team in Shannon. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in hands-on electronics testing who is passionate about product quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Role Overview
This lab-based engineering role involves supporting new product development through rigorous validation of both hardware and software components. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure new IoT and life-safety devices meet high performance, safety, and compliance standards before release to market.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform end-to-end validation of electronic and IoT-based products, including RF modules, gateways, apps, and cloud systems
2. Assemble prototypes and carry out key tests including ESD, surge, and transient testing
3. Collaborate with design teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
4. Create and execute test plans, document test results, and generate clear technical reports
5. Support internal QA processes and contribute to technical documentation
Required Experience & Skills
1. 2+ years' hands-on experience validating electronic products (hardware/software), ideally in IoT, safety-critical or consumer electronics
2. Strong understanding of electronics principles with the ability to read and interpret schematics
3. Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators)
4. Skilled in soldering and rework, including surface-mount components
5. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and task management skills
6. Qualification in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
7. Familiarity with automated QA tools (e.g., LabView, Selenium)
8. Experience working with mains-powered products
9. Exposure to defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
10. ISTQB or similar QA certifications
