Graduate Usability Engineer/ Usability Engineer I
The Graduate Usability Engineer / Usability Engineer I will support the R&D User Experience team in delivering usability engineering activities across Aerogen products. The role includes assisting with formative and summative human factors studies, alongside contributing to the design and refinement of user interfaces, packaging, labelling, and instructions for use. The position requires the application of human-centred design principles and creative problem-solving to develop intuitive, safe, and effective product solutions for use across hospital, home, and EMS environments.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the design and refinement of Aerogen products, including user interfaces, packaging, carry solutions, and Instructions for Use.
Bring a creative, user‑centred perspective to cross‑functional project teams, helping to improve how products are experienced in practice.
Support usability engineering activities across multiple projects, ensuring designs minimise use‑related risks while remaining intuitive and accessible.
Assist in planning and conducting formative and summative usability studies across hospital, home, and EMS environments.
Observe and engage with users to uncover insights that inform design decisions.
Support the development of Human Factors documentation for regulatory submissions (EU and US).
Continuously explore ways to improve visual communication, clarity, and usability across all user‑facing elements.
Education and Experience
Qualification in Product design, Engineering, Technology, Science, Psychology, Human Factors Engineering, User Experience.
Key Skills
Strong creative and design mindset, with an interest in how products are experienced by users.
Empathy and excellent interpersonal skills, with a genuine curiosity about user behaviour.
Understanding of human‑centred design principles.
Strong visual communication skills (layout, typography, graphic design).
High attention to detail, particularly in usability reports.
Ability to balance creativity with structured, regulated processes.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Willingness to travel for user research and usability studies.
