BROTHERS OF CHARITY SERVICES IRELAND WEST REGIONPOSTS: TEAM LEADER (Social Care Leader / CNM1 grade)2 X Permanent Full-TimeRINDOON ADULT SERVICES (Athlone, Kilteevan, Roscommon Town)Ref: 92365A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent permanent full-time Team Leader appointments within the Rindoon Service location may be offered over the next 6 to 12 months.The Role:The Team Leader has a pivotal role in managing the day to day delivery of services. The Team Leader will provide leadership and supervision to teams while ensuring the development of the service in line with national standards and best practice. The main responsibilities are to assist the Team Manager with the management of the services, such as person centred planning in line with Personal Outcome Measures ethos and practice, resource management and staffing - includingrosters, staff development, facilitating communication and professional leadership in order to ensure a good quality of life for the people supported.It is the Team Leaders responsibility to ensure that the life of each person reflects the organisations core values:Dignity, respect and a rights based modelPromoting independence in all areas of life through exposure, experience and educationPromoting friendships and relationships in ordinary places in the community and making a contributionMaking choicesQualifications/Experience:Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition have:(I) A relevant 3rd level qualification in Nursing and current Live Register Certificate from NMBIOR(II) Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU. See list of recognised Social Care qualifications at: OR(III) Hold a schedule 3 qualification (see below Note 1*)See list of recognized Schedule 3 qualifications at:OR(IV) Hold a comparable qualification recognised by Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORUOR(V) Applicants who satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005, (see below Note 2*) must submit proof of application for registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU. The acceptable proof is correspondence from the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU confirming their application for registration as a Section 91 applicant was received by the 30th November 2025.AndHold an appropriate qualification in Health and Social Care Management (QQI Level 6) is a necessary requirement of the post. If the successful applicant does not hold such a qualification, a commitment to obtaining the qualification prior to taking up the post will be required.Previous experience of effectively managing a staff team and demonstrating proven ability to pro-actively lead, motivate, empower and achieve results through people is an advantage.A minimum of three 3 years post qualification experience, working with people with an Intellectual Disability is essential.Demonstrate a clear commitment to community integration and active citizenship for all people with disabilities with experience in the area of human rights and advocacy.Experience of working in the area of autism and behaviours of concern would be an advantage.Skills:Candidates should be able to demonstrate leadership and communication and team working skills.Knowledge and experience managing peoples well-being using an evidence based approach to person centred planning e.g. Personal Outcome Measures.Knowledge and understanding of the National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities, the Health Act 2007 (Care and Support of Residents in Designated Centres for Persons (Children and Adults with Disabilities) Regulations 2013 and New Directions for Day Services.Must have the ability to exercise good judgement, discretion and confidentiality, be creative and self-motivated, communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms and co-operate in a team environment with a person-centred philosophyA full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads and use of your own car is an essential requirement.Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.Working Hours:Contracted hours will depend on the grade of the successful candidate - i.e. 78 hours a fortnight (SCL grade) or 75 hours a fortnight (CNM1 grade) rostered flexibly on a 7 day duty roster.The Team leader will work as a frontline member of the team with protected time to carry out specific team leader duties.In addition, a sleep-in and/or night duty commitment may be a requirement of posts in residential services for which the appropriate allowance will be paid.The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland West Region model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.Annual Leave:Leave will be granted according to the agreed leave assigned to the grade of the successful candidates i.e. Social Care Leader or CNM1.
