Senior Process Development Engineer – Contract – Hybrid role (4 days onsite/week)
As a Senior Process Development Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering support in the creation and the development of new medical device products, focused on additive manufacturing. You will interface with Design, Quality and Manufacturing organizations to integrate new products, equipment sets or processes into production.
Duties of the role include:
* Research, develop, design, and evaluate mechanical and electro-mechanical materials, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment.
* Conduct feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
* Develop new concepts from initial design to market release.
* Write and submit intellectual property (patents).
* Maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases of development.
* Aid design of new equipment for new products & manufacturing. Play a key role in the design phase of the equipment from initialization to final handover.
* Work closely with machine vendors to ensure that the equipment is designed, built & tested according to specifications and is properly handed over to manufacturing.
* Plan, organize, and conduct all aspects of technical reviews.
* Ensure proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements (e.g., BOM’s, Routers, FMEA’s, etc.).
* Review or coordinate vendor activities to support development.
Previous Experience Required:
* Experience with working with Laser Systems & Laser materials processing (Welding, Marking, Cutting, etc.) is an advantage.
* Knowledge in CNC code or CAD/CAM would be beneficial.
* 5+ Years within a GMP Environment (preferably Medical Devices).
