What you’ll do:
As a Merchandiser at Primark, you play a critical role in the delivery of the product strategy. In partnership with the Buying teams, you will build and deliver your section strategy through strong commercial, analytical, and influencing skills. You will work with your Buying team and lead a team of Assistant and Trainee Merchandisers to manage the execution of this strategy ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time to maximise sales and profit performance.
While supporting Primark as a global brand, you will also understand our regional customers and use data and analytics to tailor ranges that deliver for the different customers in all our global markets.
You will maintain a keen awareness of current and evolving social and economic landscapes, with a focus on sustainability under Primark Cares as a key strategic pillar for the business.
As a Merchandiser, you will support the Head of Merchandising in continually seeking to identify new opportunities to enhance our value proposition, while supporting the departmental delivery of sales, markdown, stock turn, and contribution budgets.
Key responsibilities (day‑to‑day):
* Leadership: Build, coach and develop an engaging and high‑performing team. Set clear performance expectations and provide constructive feedback to motivate colleagues.
* Commercial Awareness: Maintain extensive market knowledge to anticipate and respond to factors such as competitor activity, socio‑economic pressures, changing customer behaviours and price sensitivities.
* Strategy and Planning: Build a commercial and strategic range that balances newness, colour, price and product attributes, while meeting regional differences and seasonal requirements. Drive and deliver strategy within the team, monitor KPIs, sales, profit and market share increases.
* Forecasting and Trading: Work closely with the Head of Merchandising to agree all financial macro targets. Manage tools and reporting to review information and ensure that all aspects of strategic planning are met.
* Product Knowledge: Develop deep, broad knowledge of Primark product across multiple areas, considering past products and competitor analysis when building ranges.

What you’ll bring:
* 5 years’ experience in a Merchandising role with at least 2 years in a people‑management/team‑lead position, or equivalent relevant experience.
* Relevant qualification in a fashion, retail or commerce‑related subject, or equivalent experience.
* Skilled influencer, adept at managing a large network of stakeholders for effective commercial decisions.
* Strategic thinker with strong numerical and commercial acumen.
* Demonstrated experience in building and developing a high‑performing team.
* Excellent communication and engagement skills.
