Commercial Food Buyer Role
We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Commercial Food Buyer to manage and optimize their assigned product portfolio, building relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders in the business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the sourcing and introduction of own-label products in conjunction with the product development teams, negotiating total purchase costs, setting wholesale selling prices, and monitoring portfolio and product margins to ensure profitability objectives are being met.
Responsibilities:
* Developing and implementing effective category plans to reflect market and consumer trends.
* Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers and vendors.
* Managing relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers and Retail Partners.
* Analyzing data to inform strategic purchasing decisions.
* Identifying opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
Requirements:
* Third-level qualification or equivalent experience in a commercial function, such as Trading, Finance, or Supply Chain.
* Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen combined with excellent written and oral communication capabilities.
* Knowledge of category management principles would be an advantage.
* Excellent interpersonal and project management skills with an ability to build long-term, stable relationships.
* Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
