As the Field Engineer for Enet Communications Ltd, your primary responsibility will be to carry out reactive maintenance on the 3 Mobile Phone Network and the ENET Microwave Network and handle tickets assigned to the field team and to resolve as quickly and efficiently as possible.
There are two open positions for this role. This role will be located in the Connacht region and will require travel around this region (North Clare, Galway, Mayo, Cavan).
Key Responsibilities:

Take end-to-end ownership of all assigned field activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Work at height on Telecoms tower infrastructure resolving reactive faults and carrying out ad hoc project work.
Collaborate closely with the logistics team, fellow Field Engineers, back‑office support, and customers to meet KPIs, reduce repair times, improve network reliability, and enhance overall customer experience.
Actively monitor the ticketing system, promptly taking ownership of open faults in your area.
Provide real‑time updates as tasks progress and manage each issue through to full resolution.
Perform detailed site surveys and assessments to support new deployments and infrastructure upgrades.
Diagnose and resolve on‑site hardware and network faults, using appropriate tools and troubleshooting techniques.
Operate with autonomy and initiative, while knowing when to collaborate or elevate issues through established escalation paths.
Conduct preventative maintenance on network infrastructure and implement system upgrades as needed.
Work closely with network engineers and project managers to meet service delivery milestones and project timelines.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, offering feedback and suggestions to enhance service delivery and field operations.
Manage and track van stock and local rollout inventory; coordinate with logistics, E// and Huawei to replenish parts and return faulty parts as necessary.
Be based in a defined geographical area, with flexibility to travel across regions as operational needs require.
Serve as Clerk of Works for ENET and 3 site installations, ensuring build quality and compliance with standards.
Participate in the on‑call Rota for ENET RAN network support, responding to incidents as required.
Conduct on‑site health checks, proactively identifying and reporting any defects or risks.
Perform work at height as a certified climber (or be willing to train), as many tasks will involve elevated network components.

Key Skills / Qualifications:

3–5 years’ experience as a Telecommunications Field Engineer.
Third level qualification in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Work at height on Telecoms tower infrastructure resolving reactive faults and carrying out ad hoc project work.
Hands‑on experience with Mobile Network equipment, including base stations, microwave radio and DC systems.
Proficient in interpreting technical diagrams, network schematics, and equipment manuals.
Strong understanding of mobile network and telecommunications systems.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
Proven problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills with a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.
Strong team player who collaborates well in cross‑functional environments.
Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards and environmental practices.
Valid clean driver’s license and flexibility to travel frequently.
