Renewable Energy Project Engineer

In this role, you will lead and support the design of renewable energy systems, collaborate with internal and external teams to develop tailored solutions, and manage full project lifecycles from planning through to commissioning. You will also provide hands-on electrical and mechanical engineering support throughout project phases, troubleshoot as needed, and ensure all project activities meet required environmental, health, and safety standards and engineering best practices.
To succeed in this position, you should have a bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, 2+ years of professional experience in renewable energy projects or sustainability-focused engineering roles, and competency in CAD software, renewable energy modelling tools, and project management systems. Additional qualifications in renewable energy systems or project management are desirable.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and support the design of renewable energy systems, collaborating with internal and external teams to develop tailored solutions.
* Manage full project lifecycles—from planning through to commissioning—ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
* Offer hands-on electrical and mechanical engineering support throughout project phases, troubleshooting as needed.
* Ensure all project activities meet required environmental, health, and safety standards and engineering best practices.
* Produce and manage accurate technical documentation, specifications, and project status reports.
* Work closely with design teams, contractors, and suppliers to integrate renewable solutions into new and existing developments.
* Keep informed of emerging technologies and trends in the renewable energy sector, suggesting improvements and efficiencies.
* Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Master's degree is an advantage).
* 2+ years of professional experience in renewable energy projects or sustainability-focused engineering roles.
* Competency in CAD software, renewable energy modelling tools, and project management systems.
* Additional qualifications in renewable energy systems or project management (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) are desirable.
