Barden are delighted to announce that we have partnered exclusively with the prestigious Mercy University Hospital in their search for a Chief Financial Officer to join the Executive Management Team.
This is a key leadership role with broad responsibility.
This role forms an integral part of the leadership team and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
Key responsibilities will include Strategic Planning, Financial Oversight and day-to-day management of the various functions that report to the office of the CFO.
The Mercy University Hospital has grown significantly over the years and plans to continue this growth. It is a large, sophisticated, and expanding hospital delivering high acuity services to the Southern Region of Ireland.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Assess organisational performance against both the annual budget and company's long‑term strategy.
Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO, Executive Management Team and Board of Directors and to make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
Lead the engagement and negotiations with Health Service Executive (HSE) in Financial and Service Planning Exercises.
Attend monthly Board meetings (as well as any sub-committee meetings) in conjunction with the CEO to advise the Board on key financials and play a key strategic role in the development of the hospital.
Oversee the accounting and procurement department ensuring a robust environment and controls framework is in place.
Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the CEO.
ABOUT THE PERSON

A professional Accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) with significant post qualification experience.
At least seven to ten years' experience in a Senior Finance post or equivalent.
Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
A long-term strategic thinker.
