The role
Dungarvan, County Waterford, Ireland – Carechoice Dungarvan is part of the CareChoice Group, consisting of 15 nursing homes. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to support our nursing home’s daily operations. We pride ourselves on delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care and we want dedicated staff to help maintain a safe environment for our residents.
Responsibilities and Duties
Carry out day‑to‑day maintenance and minor repairs.
Work with outside contractors for major repair work.
Ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly.
Perform inspections and record the results.
Keep external areas tidy.
Carry out painting as required.
Provide holiday cover for the maintenance position in a number of different homes.
Qualifications and Skills
Practical DIY skills to carry out minor repairs.
Ability to manage your own workload.
Good problem‑solving skills.
Basic level of IT literacy.
Good awareness of health, safety, security and hygiene issues.
Willingness to work flexibly.
Full driver licence with own transport.
