We are working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business serving regulated, high-volume production environments. As the company continues to grow and mature, there is a requirement to appoint a QHSE Manager who can take ownership of Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental systems and help elevate standards across the organisation.
This is a hands-on, influential role, suited to someone who enjoys building robust frameworks, improving what already exists, and working closely with operational teams to embed best practice.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to:
1. Take ownership of QHSE across multi-site operations in Ireland and the UK
2. Strengthen and formalise Quality and Environmental systems
3. Review and enhance existing Health & Safety practices
4. Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, while supporting and mentoring on-site teams
5. Shape QHSE culture in a practical, realistic, and people-focused way
Rather than inheriting a "perfect" system, you'll be given the autonomy to assess, improve, and evolve how QHSE is delivered across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Quality
6. Develop, maintain, and improve the Quality Management System
7. Ensure compliance with customer standards, specifications, and audits
8. Lead internal and external audits and manage corrective actions
9. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis
Health & Safety
10. Review, maintain, and strengthen Health & Safety systems
11. Ensure compliance with UK and Irish H&S legislation
12. Lead risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
13. Investigate incidents and implement preventative actions
14. Promote a positive, proactive safety culture across sites
Environmental
15. Develop and maintain Environmental Management practices
16. Ensure compliance with environmental legislation
17. Monitor and improve performance related to waste, energy, and sustainability
Leadership & Collaboration
18. Act as the primary QHSE point of contact for customers, auditors, and regulators
19. Provide clear reporting and guidance to senior management
20. Support and mentor internal stakeholders to build long-term QHSE capability
21. Travel between sites as required
What We're Looking For
22. Proven QHSE experience within manufacturing or regulated environments
23. Strong working knowledge of:Quality Management SystemsHealth & Safety legislation (UK and/or Ireland)Environmental compliance
24. Experience leading audits and managing non-conformances
25. Practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong influencing skills
26. Comfortable operating across sites and working closely with operations
Qualifications (Preferred, Not All Essential)
27. NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (or equivalent)
28. Strong knowledge of (ISO / / )
29. Experience with Continuous Improvement or Lean environments
30. Degree or equivalent qualification in HSE, Quality, Engineering, or related field
Location & Flexibility
31. Role can be based in Ireland or the UK
32. Hybrid working may be considered depending on operational needs
33. Regular site presence and inter-site travel will be required
