It includes the main bacteriology laboratory, a Serology laboratory, a full molecular suite, and a CL3 laboratory processing Enteric and Mycobacterium work. The Laboratory is consultant-led and is part of the hospital's Infection Prevention and Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship Committees.Requirements:A postgraduate degree in Medical Laboratory Science.Eligibility for Fellowship of The Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine.Registered Medical Scientist with CORU.At least 4 years of post-qualification experience in a Medical Laboratory.Excellent planning & organizational skills.Salary from €67,000 to €86,000 per annum, based on experience.Responsibilities:Experience in Molecular diagnostics and Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing.Experience in test method verification and validation.Responsible for all technical/scientific aspects of the Department's work.Participate in ensuring the Quality Management System of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine conforms to ISO standards for medical laboratories.Note: KCR does not charge any recruitment fees to candidates.
